FOOD and Photo Books, Cards, Calendars and Posters

Focus: Food.

We have a major food activity in our future: A Family Cookbook of hand-written family favorite recipes. We're in the final planning stages: schedule the pot-luck. Bringing the families together to share bread, share stories, share old pictures, and take new pictures with the goal: creating a "slice" of our family's history.

We'll be taking lots of pictures of the participants, to be sure... but we'll want to remember to take a few pictures of the wonderful food we'll be sharing!  Just in time, Digital Photography School offers 10 Tips for Mouth Watering Food Photography.  Who knows, some of our food shots may appear in a family food calendar, or family recipe cards!
These pictures were taken by Jen, a Freeze Frame Publishing partner.  I'm waiting for her card and calendar line!

Happy picnic-ing and pot-luck-ing!  Keep your cameras handy.

Please visit our web site for more information on Freeze Frame Publishing's product offerings and services. You can also download our FREE software to create your own photo books, cards, calendars and posters.  If I can be of any assistance to you as you freeze time and frame your memories forever, please contact me.

Somethin's Cookin': Family Recipe Photo Books!

Lots of old, hand-written, family recipes?  Aunt Marge brought a stack of old family recipes over recently.  I am charged with scanning them. We will have a family cookbook workshop early this fall.  Our goal: create a multi-generational cookbook of old family recipes.  Each family will receive a copy. We'll share a pot-luck dinner that night as we reminisce about old family favorites.

Here are two sample scans. These recipes were written on scraps of paper. We'll be able to include them in our cookbook along with memories of the cooks and the family members who savored the cooking!

Familiar smells.  Close your eyes and remember.  Childhood all over again. Special moments with friends and family relived.

We hope you will join us by creating your own family cookbooks.  Call your siblings, aunts and uncles, cousins, grandparents. Gather your recipes and start scanning (or send them to us and we'll scan them for you!).

Please visit our web site for more information on Freeze Frame Publishing, our products and services. If you would assistance getting started, please contact me.  If you are interested in hosting a photo book workshop with your friends and family, please contact me to schedule a time!

Happy memories,

Summer's in Full-Swing!

Beautiful weather for the 4th of July weekend in Michigan made it easy for many photo ops. Our summer community of Croton hosted its annual parade and fireworks... and we hosted our annual neighborhood breakfast. Over 70 people attended!  We had a dedicated "photographer" this year: one of our daughters. While we prepared, cooked and served... she snapped pictures.

We made a poster collage to display at next year's annual event. The poster measures 11"x17" and can be printed on both sides, or just one side as shown here.
I chose several crowd pictures as well as a few pictures of this year's fireworks. I chose red and blue borders and rounded corners on two. A big title and date in the center, and we're good to go!

We had so many pictures from which to choose that I made an Animoto video of this event! I wrote about Animoto in the last post.  It's a great site. They make me look like a professional.  If you haven't made one yet, I urge you to try it.  Here is our video.

Enjoy your summer. Take lots of pictures. Have fun!
