Add Blocks of Text to Your Photo Books!

Q. Is there a way to add blocks of text to my photo books?

A. Yes, there is! Follow these simple steps and you can save yourself some typing time. This example uses a word document and Freeze Frame Publishing photo book software for PC.

Step 1: Select the page you would like to copy and paste your pre-existing text. Add a caption box (This can be done from the top tool bar under the Insert tab, or by right-clicking your mouse and selecting Insert.). Enlarge the caption box. Move your cursor arrow to a corner of the caption box; when the double-ended arrow appears, pull your cursor towards a corner of the photo book page. Minimize the photo book program.

Step 2: Open your word document. Highlight the text you wish to copy. Then press both the Ctrl and C buttons to copy your text. Minimize your word document.

Step 3: Expand the photo book program. With your cursor in the text box, press both the Ctrl and V buttons to paste your text. Re-size the caption box as needed.

A few things to remember as you copy text from a word document into the photo book program:
* all text will be the same size, the same font, and the same color within the text box.
* you can change the size, font, and color of your text.
* if you want some words to be italicized or a different color you will need to create a new text box for each change you wish to make within your text block.

Thank You!

Custom Post Cards for all of your Special Events!

Now you can easily customize your open house or other event invitations with FREE software from Freeze Frame Publishing! In this example we used two postcards as our invitation to an open house. One post card was the official invitation and the other post card was the map to the open house.

We used both sides of each open house post card. The front of the invitation used a picture taken from the plane as the background and a picture of the couple in the foreground. The back of the invitation gave all of the pertinent information for the party. The map post card had a map to the destination on one side and name, date, and contact information on the back side. The map card could easily fit in a purse and the invitation could be hung on the refrigerator.

If change of address cards are needed our fully customizable wallet size cards may be just right for you. In our sample we have a picture of the couple on one side and their new address on the back side. There is also plenty of room to include email addresses and cell phone numbers as well. Wallet cards fit into most address books, too.

Custom Thank-You Cards from Freeze Frame Publishing!

Don't forget the Thank-You cards! Digital cameras make taking pictures fast and easy. During your big day take a moment to have a special "Thank-You photo" taken. Our bride pre-planned and printed a "thank you" poster for her to hold in their "Thank-You photo."

She paired that photo with two additional photos from their wedding day and she created a customized thank you note that her friends and family enjoyed. A short note inside left plenty of room for their individualized thank-yous.

Building Your 2010 Photo Calendar--April

Greens. Yellows. Blossoms. Spring is here! For the April page of our 2010 calendar I wanted lots of color! April did not disappoint. After the rains, the colors popped. Our grass went from brown to green seemingly overnight. I took a picture of our grass with my camera in the macro setting. The macro setting on my digital camera allows for really close-up shots while blurring the background. The macro setting on many digital cameras is easy to find. Look for the flower icon. When your camera is turned on, push that button and select which macro mode you'd like to use. You can find many tips from photographers on using your camera's macro setting online.

I chose to use the grass as my background picture this month. I wanted the green to cover the entire page. I dragged the picture to the work space and then clicked the icon to make it full size.

I titled this month, SPRING! and moved the caption box up to the center picture. I changed the font size and color after typing the title and while I was still in the edit mode.

I removed the gray fill from the unused day boxes. I double-clicked in the month area. I selected the Days & Fonts button, as illustrated with arrow 1. I then selected the Empty Cell drop down box, as illustrated by arrow 2. Lastly, I selected None, as illustrated by arrow 3. I clicked OK when I was finished. It is important to note that in making this change, I have changed all empty cells for the entire calendar.

I finished the month by adding a few pictures of buds and blossoms. All of the pictures used for this month have also been placed in the calendar picture folder I have on my desktop. Reminder: Keep your calendar pictures in a folder and keep the folder in the same place! Each time you open any saved photo project, the software looks for your pictures and expects that they are in the same folder in the same place on your computer. Should you receive a "missing image file" warning in one of your saved projects, check that your picture and picture folder have not been moved to a different location, or deleted altogether!
