Year-Long Photo Challenge: 365 Project

"The 365 project is a photography project where you document a year of your life by taking a daily photo."

So begins the Welcome on the 365 Project web site. The web site and project are free. You create an account an upload your first picture to get started.  There are discussion boards, tips, inspiration and encouragement to help you "capture the otherwise forgotten moments in your life." There are also themes and competitions to challenge you even further. There's even an space to add a description of the picture you've taken... a mini journal or diary of sorts. But maybe the best part of the challenge is the ability to view some pretty incredible photos taken by others.  That alone is inspiration for me!

We've signed on to take the challenge. We hope you'll join us. Think of all the stories you can "show and tell" your friends and family. At year's end you will have a wonderful chronicle of your daily life. And you will likely improve your picture-taking abilities along the way. Here is a story from Bill Iddings which appeared in the Grand Rapids Press on Sunday, December 26, 2010 of a father and son from Ludington who took a picture-a day last year... and the book that resulted!

Check out Discussions on our Facebook page. Post a comment. Upload a photo you've taken. Have fun!

Keep your cameras handy!
